They spent years as refugees, constantly moving from country to country before finally reaching the United States.

Even in Miami, the struggles were far from over. Luis' father had to completely restart his medical career despite being an accomplished doctor in Cuba. His mother worked backbreaking jobs 7 days a week just to get by. Nine-year-old Luis had to be extremely self-sufficient doing adult tasks alone.

However, through perseverance and relentless hard work, they overcame the obstacles. Luis' father revalidated his medical license, and the family succeeded in their new homeland. Luis went on to create a multi-million dollar business.
